A Statewide Fun and Fitness Program |
In Brazos County any 15 minutes of continuous aerobic activity counts as one mile. However, the state web site has a brand new mileage equivalency calculator. If you're doing something besides walking, put in your weight, number of minutes and then pick from the list of activities to get an "equivalent" mileage. You may be surprised at how many calories you are burning.
You track your mileage electronically at the state web site. Teams may also pick up a free Texas DOT map from the Texas Agrilife Office and track their own team miles at home or work. (1 inch = 23 miles)
Since we start on a Saturday (February 13th), logically, our weeks will start on that date. This is not a requirement but it will be fairest if everybody uses the same periods to report miles. I know...there's actually 57 days not 56 days (8 weeks). Pretend that you are in school and you can drop your lowest grade. Just substitute for a day that you weren't operating at your peak!
