We ask all Neighborhood Watch groups, as well as all Bryan community neighborhoods, to join in the annual National Night Out event located in various parks around Bryan. In this "Block Party" event, we ask members of the community to step outside, talk with their neighbors, and spend quality time with local police officers and each other.
If your neighborhood needs more information or would like to participate, contact Sgt. Demond D. Oliver or call (979) 209-5539. You can also check out the official website at: www.nationalnightout.org.

How to set up a block party
Solicit help to set up a block party from a friend or neighbor
If you want to block a street off make sure to get the proper permits from the city.
Invite all your neighbors and solicit their help.
Decide what kind of food you would like. Snacks, Pot Luck, someone grilling, or catered.
Decide if you want music. Radio, DJ, etc.. (make sure not to violate the noise ordinance)
Register your block party (link above) so the police department can come visit with you and bring you a goodie bag.
If you have questions or need help call the NET team at (979)209-5539.
No matter how simple or how elaborate you plan your party to be, the main goal is to get the neighborhood together. When you know your neighbors you will look after them and they will look after you.
