2010 Mayor's Downtown Impact Award winners announced
The City of Bryan has announced that Casa Rodriguez Mexican Restaurant and AgniTEK Technology Solutions are the winners of the 2010 Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award.
A second award was also handed out at the City’s volunteer reception, honoring longtime Downtown Bryan supporter Willie Bennett. The Willie Bennett Spirit of Downtown Award was given to Cody Marx Bailey.
Casa Rodriguez has been a Downtown Bryan staple for over 25 years, and has had two different locations in Downtown. Casa Rod’s is known for drawing in crowds seven days a week at the popular restaurant.
AgniTEK Technology Solutions is an IT company that moved to Downtown in 2009. AgniTEK purchased a dilapidated building and turned it into a prime example of the revitalization effort in Downtown. AgniTEK has also drawn an additional business into their building – leasing space to Bling It On.
Cody Marx Bailey is a co-founder of tech company The Creative Space in Downtown. Bailey has had his hands in a number of Downtown projects and events, including the Rock the Republic music and art festival, BarCampTexas, and Red Wasp Film Festival.
In honor of the Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award Tim Bryan of The Bank & Trust was on-hand to make a $500 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley. Chris Peterson of the Peterson Law Group also made a $500 donation at the event. Peterson’s gift was in honor of the Willie Bennett Spirit of Downtown Award and was presented to the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley.
