Bryan PD Press Release - Train Collides with Pedestrian on Tracks
The deceased pedestrian has been identified as Herman Roberson, a 53 year old male from Bryan. The roadway on W. 28th St. near N. Harvey Mitchell Parkway is now open and police remain in the area investigating the accident scene. Please use caution when traveling through this area.

On Monday January 24, 2011 at 8:58 am, the Bryan Police Department received a call of a train accident near Highway 21 and W. 28th St. The call stated that a pedestrian was hit while on the tracks. Officers, Detectives and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the accident scene to investigate.
It was discovered that an unknown adult male was walking down the railroad tracks, eastbound just south of N. Harvey Mitchell Parkway, pushing a bicycle. The train, operated by Union Pacific Railroad, was headed eastbound on the railroad tracks and noticed the male in front of him. The conductor sounded the train horn several times and attempted to stop, but the male did not get off the tracks. The pedestrian was then struck by the train and died from the impact.
The West 28th St. railroad crossing near N. Harvey Mitchell Parkway is temporarily closed for the investigation. No one else was injured during the accident. Police are still on scene investigating.
