Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) honored with national award
Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU) earned Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) recognition this week from the American Public Power Association (APPA). BTU received the honor from the APPA, during the association’s annual Engineering & Operations Technical Conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
“These designated utilities should be proud,” said Paul Allen, who served as chair of the RP3 Review Panel. “They stand out as utilities that are continuing to strive for excellence for their customers and their communities.”
The RP3 recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria within each category are based on sound business practices and represent a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity.
“We’re honored to receive this award,” said BTU General Manager Dan Wilkerson. “It’s a testament to BTU’s employees and their commitment to providing the best in electrical service to our customers.”
BTU is one of only 82 of the nation’s more than 2,000 public power utilities that earned the RP3 distinction, including one of 56 to receive “Platinum” status.
