Tire and Rim Thefts on the Rise
The Bryan Police and College Station Police Departments would like advise its citizens that there have been several thefts of automobile tires and rims in the local area. Some citizens are waking in the morning to find their vehicle on blocks and their tires and rims stolen.
The vehicles that have been recently targeted are newer model GMC, Cadillac SUV, and Chevrolet pickup trucks with factory rims and tires. These vehicles have been parked in the open on a street or in a driveway.
Here are some safety tips to help keep your vehicle safe:
-Park your vehicle in the garage or behind a fenced in area
-Replace your standard lug nuts with a locking lug nut
-Keep your vehicle in a well lit area where you can see it
-Mark the inside of your rims with your driver’s license number
-Take photographs of your rims and tires
-Write down the make and model of your tires and rims
If you have any information about any tire thefts in the area, please contact the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5300 or the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600.
The safety of our community does not have borders. It is the goal of every law enforcement agency to protect the citizens that we serve. Be the eyes and ears of your police department.
