Bryan Mayor, Councilman to play in Celebrity Softball Game
The softballs will be flying on Friday, August 19 at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark (525 West Carson Street, Bryan) as The Bryan/College Station Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual “Celebrity Softball Classic and Family Fun Night.”
Bryan Mayor Jason Bienski, Councilman Chuck Konderla and police sergeant Jason James will represent the City of Bryan during the game.
The B/CS Chamber has lined up 26 local celebrities, elected officials, and business representatives for its charity game, which will feature players like A&M Women’s Basketball Head Coach Gary Blair, Candy 95’s morning personalities Frito & Alli, and KBTX’s Shel Winkley, among many others.
For $5, (kids under 5 are free) attendees not only get to interact with the “celebrities”, but also get access to a fish fry buffet as well as activities for children including “Charity the Clown” and air-inflated “moon bouncers”. Ticket admissions benefit the Chamber, a non-profit organization.
The gates open at 6:00 p.m., the same time the dinner buffet starts and the softball activities will start at roughly 7:15. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Chamber by calling 979-260-5200 or visiting www.bcschamber.org , or tickets can also be purchased at the gate the evening of the game.
The Chamber would like to thank Atkinson Toyota, Wells Fargo Advisors, the City of Bryan, and Readfield Meats for their donations and sponsorships towards the event.
