Major Accident - Woodville Road


On September 22, 2011 at approximately 2:27 pm, Bryan Police Officers responded to the 3100 block of Woodville Road near the intersection of Laura Lane for a major vehicle accident. A caller indicated that a motorcycle had been involved in an accident with another vehicle at that location. Officers and medics arrived on scene to discover that the driver of the motorcycle had sustained serious injuries. The driver of the motorcycle was transported by life flight to Scott & White in Temple for treatment.

Members of the Traffic Safety Unit responded to the accident scene to assist with the investigation. A preliminary investigation has revealed that the driver of the vehicle, a Chevrolet Trailblazer, was traveling West bound in the 3100 block of Woodville Road and the driver of the motorcycle was travelling East bound. The driver of the Chevrolet Trailblazer attempted to execute a turn in front of the motorcycle which resulted in a collision.

The Traffic Safety Unit has requested motorists to avoid Woodville Road between Old Hearne Road and Highway 6.
