Police Investigate Robbery at Jewelry Store
On September 26, 2011 at 11:11 am, the Bryan Police Department responded to a robbery call at 1305 W. William J. Bryan. Police were informed that the Joyeria jewelry store was robbed by three unknown Hispanic males with a weapon. Officers responded to the scene to find that the suspects had entered the store and demanded money. The store owner stated that he was struck by one of the suspects and subsequently received a non life threatening injury. He explained that when the suspects fled, he was able to fire a gun at the fleeing vehicle. It is unknown at this time if any of the suspects were struck by gun fire during the crime. The Criminal Investigations Division and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to assist in the investigation. There were no other reported injuries during the robbery.
The suspects fled the scene in a vehicle with an undisclosed amount of cash and merchandise.
