B+CS Library System receives book grant
The Bryan + College Station Public Library System recently received a “Collections Enhancement Grant” from the Texas Book Festival.
The $2,500 grant was used to purchase Japanese-, Korean-, Simplified Chinese- and Traditional Chinese-language books. The Library system chose these books based on the large number of people in our community with international backgrounds, including thousands of international students who attend Texas A&M University. In all, 101 new items will be added to the Public Library System, and they should be on shelves in a month or so.
The grant presenter, the Texas Book Festival, is set to launch on October 22-23 at the Texas State Capitol building in Austin. The Festival is free and open to the public and includes author sessions, roundtable events and exhibitor booths. A complete schedule of the Festival is on their website.
