Bryan Police Investigate Homicide
UPDATE 10/19/11 3:45 p.m.
On October 18, 2011 at approximately 9:49 p.m. members of the Bryan Police Departmentís Directed Deployment Team and Major Crimes Unit contacted and arrested Clayton James Thompson (date of birth 06/17/1989) at the Cameron Ranch Store located at 1414 FM 2223. Mr. Thompson was arrested on a motion to revoke (MTR) warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Mr. Thompson was questioned by Bryan Police Department Detectives for his alleged participation in the death of Billy Joe Menard Jr. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued and Mr. Thompson was charged with murder. Mr. Thompson is currently incarcerated at the Brazos County Jail.

The deceased has been identified as: Menard, Billy Joe Jr., White/Male, approximately 19 years of age. The preliminary cause of death is gunshot wound.

On October 15, 2011 at approximately 4:10 am, the Bryan Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Wild Oak to a report of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene to discover a deceased person in an apartment at that location. Members of the Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene to investigate. The Bryan Police Department is investigating this case as a homicide. The deceased has not been identified at this time.
