Christmas Gifts Needed/Coat Drive
The Bryan Police Officers Association is collecting new toys for this year’s Blue Christmas. Blue Christmas is organized by the Bryan Police Officers Association and is a holiday project designed to help the less fortunate families in our city during the holiday season. The Blue Christmas event will take place on December 10th, 2011 when we deliver the gifts. But, we need your help by donating gifts to the cause now. The BPOA has placed a few boxes throughout the City of Bryan for citizens to donate toys to support Blue Christmas. If you have toys that you would like to donate to Blue Christmas, place the toys in one of the many boxes in town at any time. The BPOA will then pick up the toys and get them distributed to those who need it.
We are also hosting a coat drive to keep everyone warm this winter. So, look in your closet and dig for an old warm coat that you don’t wear anymore and bring it to us. The coats collected will be donated to the Twin City Mission.
The Blue Christmas boxes are currently at the following Bryan locations for your convenience:
· The Bryan Police Department at 303 E. 29th St.
· CVS Pharmacy at S. Texas Ave. and E. Villa Maria
· The Isle at Watercrest assisted living at Eastchester and FM 158 (Booneville Rd.)
· Secure Care Storage at 2306 S. College Ave.
· St. Teresa Catholic Church located at 1212 Lucky Street
The Bryan Police Officers Association will also have a toy drive during Holiday Magic at Haswell Park at 1310 East William J. Bryan on December 1nd. Members of the Bryan Police Department will be collecting toys and any money donations under the pavilion at Haswell Park. We will also be having a toy drive at Downtown Bryan’s First Friday on December 2rd. Members of the Bryan Police Department will be collecting new toys in front of the Palace Theater. Both events start at 6pm.
If you would like to make a monetary donation (made payable to “BPOA”) or volunteer for Blue Christmas please call the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5350.
Please support the Bryan Police Officers Association’s Blue Christmas Project. Donate a toy and coat today. It is through the partnership with the public that the Bryan Police Officers Association can make a difference in our community. (The deadline for drop off is December 5th.)
