City of Bryan to host Holiday Magic, Thursday, Dec. 1
The 13th annual Holiday Magic will be held on Thursday, December 1 at Bryan’s Sue Haswell Park from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The family-friendly event is once again completely free to the public. Santa will be on-hand to pose for pictures (please bring your own camera), and the popular Arctic snow hill returns where kids can sled down a snow-covered hill. (Children must be at least 42 inches tall to ride the snow hill.)
Holiday Magic also features Frosty’s Funland where kids can enjoy games, ride the Polar Express, build crafts and much more. The Jane Long Middle School 6th-grade choir, a group from the Brazos Valley Performing Arts, the Lil’ Wranglers, and dancers from On Our Toes Dance Studio will all perform at the event.
A free showing of The Polar Express will be held on the baseball field at Haswell Park beginning at 6:45 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating.
Prize giveaways will be handed out all night long – including his and her bicycles and gift certificates. Hot chocolate and cookies will also be distributed at the park’s pavilion courtesy of the Bryan Wal-Mart Supercenter.
The Bryan Police Officers Association will be collecting new toys and new and gently used coats as part of their Blue Christmas drive. Their collection location will be at the large pavilion in Haswell Park.
Additional parking is available at Blinn College. Free shuttles will run from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. between Blinn College (2423 Blinn Blvd) and Haswell Park.
The event is sponsored by City of Bryan Parks and Recreation, Clear Channel Radio, Bryan Wal-Mart SuperCenter, and RSC Equipment Rental.
