Assistant Chief Peter Scheets Retiring
Bryan Police Assistant Chief Peter Scheets has been named the new Police Chief for the city of Hutto, Texas. Assistant Chief Scheets will retire from the Bryan Police Department effective December 23, 2011.
Asst. Chief Scheets has been with the department for more than 15 years after leaving the Army as a Captain. He started here as a patrolman and a Field Training Officer. He later became a Detective and then promoted to Sergeant. He was a Patrol Sergeant on the streets of Bryan and then supervised Detectives in CID before becoming the Assistant Chief in 2002.
Bryan Police Chief Eric Buske said, “Peter has had an outstanding career at the Bryan Police Department and he will be an excellent Chief for Hutto. We will miss him and we wish him the best.”
Come and join us as we congratulate him on his new position as the Chief of Hutto Texas and thank him for all his service to the officers and citizens of Bryan. There will be a reception for Assistant Chief Scheets on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Bryan Police Department.
