City of Bryan to raise money for United Way with chili luncheon
The City of Bryan will host its annual United Way fundraiser luncheon on Friday, February 10 at the American Legion Earl Graham Post 159 (101 Waco St. @ Highway 21).
The luncheon is open to the public and is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Homemade chili will be the main course, along with the following sides: rice, Fritos, cookies, and soda or water.
Tickets for the luncheon are $6 at the door, and diners may either eat inside the American Legion post, or pick up drive-thru orders outside the building.
All of the money raised from the chili luncheon will go to support the United Way of the Brazos Valley – an organization that serves the 7-county area that makes up the Brazos Valley. United Way of the Brazos Valley funds over 20 agencies each year, who in turn, provide health and human services to more than 150,000 community members in the areas of: abuse, clothing, employment, food pantry, medical and prescriptions, mental health, mental retardation, rent/utility assistance, shelter, substance abuse, transportation, etc.
