Press Release Friday, June 29, 2012Old Hearne Road pavement work begins Monday, July 2
Larry Young Paving, working for the City of Bryan, will be starting the pavement reconstruction of Old Hearne Road between Wilkes St. and Woodville Rd on Monday, July 2nd. This work should last approximately three weeks and consists of pulverizing the existing surface, stabilizing it for a new road base and placing a new asphalt pavement surface.
Old Hearne Road will remain open to traffic during construction but motorists should expect delays. When equipment is working in an area two-way traffic will be narrowed to one lane with flagmen directing traffic through one direction at a time. As such, there will be delays and motorists are encouraged to use other routes when possible.
Rough surfaces may exist throughout construction so motorists should slow down and, as always, use caution in the work area, obey all traffic signage and watch for workers.
This work is part of Bryan’s $2.2 million 2012 Street Maintenance project.
