Bryan PD NET Officers Meet Neighborhood/Homeowner Association Leaders Monday, February 25th
Neighborhood Enforcement Team Continues Aggressive Community Outreach Campaign
WHAT: Officers of the newly formed Bryan Police Department’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team (NET) will meet with neighborhood and homeowner association leaders within the City of Bryan from 6:30-8:00pm on Monday, February 25, 2008. The meeting will be held in the Bryan City Council Chambers, located on the first floor of the Bryan Municipal Office Building at 300 South Texas Ave.
WHY: The purpose of this meeting is to introduce the entire team of officers to the association representatives and get acquainted with each other. Many of the NET officers have already been attending meetings of associations located in their respective zones, but this forum will give both groups an opportunity to share ideas and information about quality of life issues and public safety that impacts the entire city.
WHO: The NET officers are a component of the Bryan Police Department’s “community oriented policing,” in which the department takes a lot of pride. The core components are a strong community partnership and open communication between the police department and its citizens. This allows both entities to identify and prioritize problems in order to address them more efficiently. Bringing neighborhood leaders and NET officers together to share information and strategies will enhance the success of both the police department and the citizens they serve.
Each neighborhood or homeowners association registered with the City of Bryan are encouraged to send 1-2 representatives of their association to this initial meeting. Space is limited more than a couple of association representatives are not able to be accommodated. The officers will share their contact information in order to schedule future association meetings.
