City of Bryan Community Development Advisory Committee Hosts Public Meeting
Meeting gives Public Opportunity to Give Their Opinions
The City of Bryan’s Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will host their regular public meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the City of Bryan’s Municipal Office Building, Basement Training Room, 300 S. Texas Avenue, Bryan, Texas at 6:00 P.M. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
The public meetings, held on a monthly basis by CDAC, allows the public an opportunity to make comments on community needs and to hear staff reports on projects and any Committee concerns regarding these projects.
The City of Bryan’s Community Development Services Department annually receives approximately $1.4 million Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds. At least 70% of the CDBG grant is allocated to eligible activities for citizens who are at, or below, 80% of the area’s median income. Eligible activities include owner-occupied housing programs, economic development, public facilities, code enforcement, public services and infrastructure (i.e. streets, sidewalks and sanitary sewer service in low- to moderate-income areas).
Anyone who would like to make comments regarding the public meeting and specifically regarding housing, public facilities/infrastructure, code enforcement, economic development and public service programs for low and moderate income citizens may do so at the Visitors to Be Heard portion of the Agenda. If unable to attend, anyone wishing to make comments may call 979-209-5175 or write to the City of Bryan, Community Development Services Department, 405 W. 28th Street, P.O. Box 1000, Bryan, Texas 77805.
