Rosser arrested for Burglary of Habitation
On 05/28/2008 at 1352 hours, the Bryan Police Department responded to a burglary of a habitation at Autumn Wood Apartment Complex located at 1612 Hollowhill Apt 1013. The victim reported to the officers that an unknown person entered his apartment and caused criminal mischief to the floor and a stole a Hewlett Packard laptop computer from the apartment. The victim was unable to provide any suspect information.
On 11/03/2008, Jeremiah Matthew Rosser, W/M, DOB 02/26/1981 was arrested for the murder of Jenna Verhaalen. A search warrant was conducted at Rosser’s residence. Also included in the search was Rosser's vehicle. During the search of Rosser's vehicle, a HP laptop computer was found in the back seat. Evidence on the computer’s hard drive proved that the laptop belonged to the victim from apartment 1013. Also found in Rosser’s possession was a set of keys. One of the keys fit the lock to apartment 1013 at the time of the offense. The lock was changed after the victim moved out.
On 11/05/2008, the Bryan Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division served a burglary of a habitation warrant on Rosser for the possession of the stolen HP laptop computer. Rosser is currently in the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office Jail on a $175,000 bond for murder. Rosser now has an additional $50,000 bond for burglary of a habitation.
Burglary of a Habitation is a 2nd Degree Felony
• Confinement for a term from 2 to 20 years in prison; and
• an optional fine not to exceed $10,000.
