Bryan continues effort to install free smoke alarms
The City of Bryan recently launched a campaign of public service announcements to inform the public about a partnership with United Way and the City of College Station to reduce the incidence of injury and death by installing 1,000 free smoke alarms.
The campaign is targeted toward families with children, citizens with low socio-economic backgrounds, Hispanic residents, senior citizens and international students.
Officials also are striving through the public education campaign to encourage citizens to have a working smoke alarm that is tested regularly, have a fire escape plan and use good home safety practices.
The new PSAs will be broadcast on several local radio stations.
