The Bryan Police Department hires new officer
On January 14, 2009, the Bryan Police Department swore in Officer E’Mar Fleming as a newest member of the Bryan Police Department family.
Officer E’Mar Fleming is 32 years of age and was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. Officer Fleming was a Police Officer for the Baltimore Police Department before moving to Bryan, Texas.
Officer Fleming took the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) test in Austin and passed which allows him to enter the 18 week Field Training Program. In the Field Training Program he will work with a number of seasoned training officers who are tasked with providing extensive training in areas such as departmental policy, community interaction and report writing skills. Upon completion of the Field Training Program Officer Fleming will be assigned to an overlapping patrol team called the Power Shift. The Power Shift provides guidance from senior officers and close supervision until they are placed on a permanent shift. Officer Fleming will remain on probationary status for 18 months from his date of hire.
