Disaster Volunteer Academy starts this week
A Disaster Volunteer Academy hosted by Brazos County, Texas A&M University and the cities of Bryan and College Station is set to kick off this week.
Classes will be held weekly on Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. The eight-week academy begins Feb. 12 and runs through April 16.
Volunteers will be provided information and skills relating to various areas of hazard mitigation and disaster preparedness, response and recovery. The goal of this training is to enhance Emergency Managementís readiness by including citizen response teams.
