Reading with Ringling Bros.! program set to kick off
The Bryan Public Library and Larry J. Ringer Public Library are joining with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey to host a fun new reading program.
Kids ages 2 to 12 can earn a free Ringling Bros. circus ticket by simply reading books. Children under 2 already get in free. Children can get a “Reading with Ringling” card from the Bryan Library at 201 E. 26th St. or from the Larry J. Ringer Library on Harvey Mitchell Parkway in College Station. When the child reads a book, he or she brings the card in for a stamp. Once children have completed their cards by obtaining five stamps, they can exchange the completed card at the Reed Arena Box Office for a free child’s circus ticket, good at the Thursday, April 9, or Friday, April 10, performance. Kids also receive cool bookmarks, clown noses and activity sheets.
More than 300 libraries in Texas are participating in this program. Information will be available soon at www.ReadingwithRingling.com.
Clowns Dave and Cherie Gregg, Ringling Brothers’ Ambassadors of Laughter, appeared at the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley Tuesday, March 3, and at the local public libraries on Wednesday, March 4. Local children were able to hear a circus story, see some juggling and visit with the clowns.
