Bryan GIS publishes new map service for City cemeteries
For several years a map service has been available for the Bryan Cemetery allowing citizens access to research sexton records. In addition to updated records for the Bryan Cemetery, the Oakwood Cemetery records are now available online. Whether family or friends, genealogists or historians, individuals can now research burial records through the interactive “Bryan City Cemeteries” map service. The easy-to-use map service can be accessed from anywhere and could save you a trip to city hall to conduct research.
The Bryan City Cemetery was established on June 13, 1868, and consists of 67 acres at 1111 North Texas Avenue. The 13-acre Bryan Oakwood Cemetery was established on November 9, 1923, and is located at 700 San Jacinto Lane.
Since its inception in February 2003, the City of Bryan GIS system has provided City staff, as well as the public, easy access to a wide array of geographically displayed data about the City and the surrounding community.
