Waterline reconstruction project set to begin Wednesday
Beginning Wednesday, June 3, the City of Bryan’s contractor will begin construction of an 8-inch waterline as part of the Miscellaneous Waterline Reconnections Project.
As part of this project, the existing 6-inch waterline that crosses Texas Avenue from Brookside into Garden Acres will be replaced with a new 8-inch waterline to improve water flows in the neighborhood. The project will begin at the intersection of Garden Acres and Texas Avenue and end 200 feet up Garden Acres.
The project, contracted to Economic Construction, will cost about $383,000.
During construction, a portion of Garden Acres (approximately 200 feet) will be closed to through traffic. Every effort will be made to allow local residents access to their driveways. However, there will be times when driveway access may be unavailable. Motorists should attempt to seek an alternate route. Construction is expected to last a few days.
