Over a decade ago, officers with the Bryan Police Department began a small project to help less fortunate families during the holiday season. Originally called “Christmas on Beck Street,” and coordinated by Officer Angel Martinez, the project was able to help a number of families on Bryan's west side provide gifts for their children on Christmas.
Now called the “Blue Christmas Project,” the operation has grown to encompass residents throughout the city. Organizers collect thousands of donated toys and dollars each year, and both are redistributed back into the community to help less fortunate families in Bryan. The project is currently organized by the Bryan Police Officers’ Association (BPOA) who solicits information from officers within the Bryan Police Department, as well as members of the public, to determine which families will receive assistance.
The Bryan Police Officers’ Association is collecting new and gently used toys for this year’s Blue Christmas. The Blue Christmas Project will take place on December 19th. The BPOA has placed numerous decorated boxes throughout the City of Bryan for citizens to donate toys to support Blue Christmas. If you have toys that you would like to donate to Blue Christmas, place the toys in the box and the BPOA will pick the toys up.
The Blue Christmas boxes are currently at the following Bryan locations:
CVS located on the corner of Villa Maria and Texas Ave
Walgreens located on the corner of East 29th and Briarcrest
Walgreens located on the corner of Austin Colony Parkway and Boonville

Apple Tree located at 2000 East Hwy 21
Bryan Police Department located at 303 East 29th
