The second annual Lights On! holiday celebration in historic downtown Bryan is set for Thursday, Nov. 19.
The evening begins at 5:30 p.m. with a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours at the Children’s Museum of Brazos Valley.
The tree lighting ceremony at 7 p.m. in Sale Park, will be hosted by KBTX-TV anchor Joe Brown, and will feature live entertainment, cookies and hot cider and a Christmas carol sing-a-long. Soloist Susan Lovelette will perform a special holiday number that she wrote just for the occasion.
Following the tree-lighting ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy dessert at the Forsyth Gallery, now open on Main Street. The gallery will remain open until 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, and will feature a performance from soloist Kelsey Taylor.
The Brazos Valley Community Band will perform at the Palace Theater beginning around 7:30 p.m. The band, directed by Elmer R. Jackson, is composed of a unique blend of members, who range in age from 16 to 88.
Ample parking is available, and with carriage rides and trolley service will be offered for tours of downtown.
The rain date for the tree lighting is Monday, Nov. 23.
