Bryan employees support Boys and Girls Club
A dozen City of Bryan employees – representing the police, engineering, public works, code enforcement and information technology departments, among others – will participate Wednesday, Nov. 25, in a bowling tournament to support the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley.
The 2009 Celebrity Grand Challenge will be hosted by Terrence Murphy, a former Texas A&M football player. It kicks off at 2 p.m. at Grand Station Entertainment in College Station.
The City of Bryan has a long history of support for the Boys and Girls Club, said Neighborhood/Youth Services Manager Ronnie Jackson, who coordinated the City’s participation.
“Many employees as well as city council members were members of the Boys and Girls Club during their youth,” Jackson said. “Our local Boys and Girls Club provides wonderful services to our youth through fun, supervised activities that help build character and lead them to be productive members of society. This celebrity challenge benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley seems like a fun way to support the organization.”
