City accepting applications for Bryan Leadership Academy

Have you ever wondered how potholes are repaired or how the fire department is able to respond so quickly to emergencies? How does the City of Bryan prepare its budget or decide where a park should be located? Learn more about your local government!
The Bryan Leadership Academy offers a free weekly session for nine weeks to improve citizens’ understanding of city government and provide an inside look at the operations of the City of Bryan.
The classes are held on Mondays from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning March 22. A free light meal is served at each class, and participants will hear from representatives of more than 20 city departments.
Participants should be a senior in high school or older, not currently serving or seeking political office and willing to commit to attending most of the sessions. The deadline to apply is Friday, Feb.26.
Applications will be accepted online at www.bryantx.gov, or those interested may call Sally Jurica at (979) 209-5100 for more information. A maximum of 20 applicants will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.
