Presidential conference to be held in Downtown Bryan
Scholars from across the country will gather in Downtown Bryan on March 4-7 for a conference hosted by Texas A&M University.
“Rhetoric, Politics and the Obama Phenomenon” will include discussions about such things as the rhetorical dimension of President Obama’s foreign policy, the use of new media in presidential communications and rhetorical analyses of Obama as a constitutive force.
Professors and graduate students from more than 20 states will be featured speakers at the conference. The event is not affiliated with a particular political party, but rather focuses on communication tools in the White House and beyond.
The speakers will stay at the historic LaSalle Hotel in Downtown Bryan and will have an opportunity to enjoy Downtown’s unique shops and restaurants, carriage rides and historic buildings. The conference was planned in conjunction with Downtown Bryan’s monthly First Fridays event.
The conference is free and open to the public, but seating is limited. Visit http://comm.tamu.edu/Phenomenonindex.html for complete program and registration information.
