Community to celebrate Brazos Valley Earth Day
The public is invited to join the community in celebrating the 15th annual Brazos Valley Earth Day at College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek on Saturday, April 17. The event is hosted by the cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas A&M University, Brazos Valley Council of Governments, Brazos Valley Solid Waste Management Agency, Keep Brazos Beautiful and the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley.
The Earth Day event will celebrate the Brazos Valley’s natural and cultural environment with music, refreshments, a kids’ zone and more than 50 educational booths on environmental topics. Earth Day festivities are free to the public and will be available from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 17.
Music will be performed by Tubie and the Touchstones and free refreshments include Coca-Cola products, water, cotton candy and popcorn. The kids’ zone will feature an inflatable obstacle course, crafts and games.
The educational booths will include information on gardening, local farming and produce, water and energy conservation, recycling, solar and wind power, alternative transportation, composting and much more.
Parking for the event is available in the JC Penney parking lot of Post Oak Mall.
