Bryan Police Resolve Barricaded Subject Peacefully
On April 20, 2010, at approximately 12:52pm, the Bryan Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Crystal Brook for a report of a robbery. The Reporting Party stated that an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. The officers responded to the alleged suspectís location. At around 1:05pm, officers contacted the suspect at the 2000 block of Scanlin. The suspect fled from the officers, ran into the residence and refused to come out. Officers surrounded the residence and attempted to make contact with the suspect, but were unsuccessful. The Emergency Response Unit was activated and both the Tactical Response Team and the Crisis Negotiation Team responded to the 2000 block of Scanlin. The Crisis Negotiation Team made contact with the suspect and around 3:15pm he voluntarily exited the residence. There were no injuries in the incident.
The Criminal Investigation Division is investigation the alleged robbery. The suspect was released on scene pending the follow up investigation.
