Channel 16 wins award for 'green' programming
For the second consecutive year, the City of Bryan’s public access Channel 16 was named the winner of Keep Brazos Beautiful’s Media Fanfare Award.
The award acknowledges a local television media personality or station whose efforts have significantly aided environmental issues. Channel 16’s biweekly program Bryan Living and Learning contains a “Be Green in Bryan” segment featuring environmental topics. The television show is a partnership with Bryan ISD and can be viewed online at www.bryantx.gov.
Channel 16 is under the supervision of the Communications and Marketing Department, led by April Saginor. Department employees include Allen Bruggman and Craig Weaver, who shoot, edit and produce the City’s portion of Bryan Living and Learning, webmaster Shawn Smith and video production specialist Shawn Eyre.
Since Bryan’s current Communications and Marketing staff was assembled in 2008, this is the 11th award they have collected and the second KBB Media Fanfare Award. The trophy will be presented on Friday, May 8, at Keep Brazos Beautiful’s annual gala.
