Lane closure planned Sunday, July 25
From roughly 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, July 25, lanes of East 29th Street will be closed for westbound traffic.
This will include the inside lane of westbound East 29th Street between Broadmoor and Briarcrest drives, as well as the turn lane in the same area. Northbound traffic on Goessler and exiting traffic from the Ken Martin restaurant will not be allowed to turn left during the closure.
In addition, businesses and residences receiving water service from the 8-inch line along East 29th Street will experience a loss of water service during this time and are asked to plan accordingly. Those affected by the water shutoff will be notified this week by the contractor.
The closure is necessary so the contractor for the City of Bryan can tie two fire hydrant extensions to the north into the existing 8-inch water line. This is part of the 2010 Miscellaneous Water Lines Project.
Motorists traveling on 29th Street in this area are advised to drive slowly and carefully for their safety as well as that of the contractor.
