Citizens Fire Academy kicks off this month

Residents are invited to learn more about the Bryan Fire Department through a 12-week Citizens Fire Academy.
The free program provides a comprehensive overview of how the department operates and the types of services it offers. Classes cover rescue techniques, first aid, emergency medical services and causes of fires. Citizens who live or work in Brazos County are eligible to attend. Each class is limited to 20 participants.
Classes begin Aug. 16 and are held every Monday evening. A graduation ceremony will be held on Nov. 1.
An application is attached, or residents can pick one up at Fire Station No. 1 in downtown Bryan.
