Sewer Line and Water Line Insurance and Warranty Programs

man replacing a sewer line

As a homeowner in the City of Bryan, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair of your home’s sewer and water lines – the buried portion of pipes located between your home and the main sewer and water lines.

The City of Bryan has coordinated efforts with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA) to inform residents of a utility line warranty program made available through the National League of Cities. This warranty may ultimately save you money if you need sewer or water line repairs on your property.

The City notifies all homeowners of this opportunity each year through mailed letters provided by Service Line Warranties of America.

Information on the programs from SLWA

The Service Line Warranty Program, available through an initiative between the National League of Cities (NLC) and Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), offers a Sewer Line Warranty and a Water Line Warranty which will protect you from any repairs needed on your outside, buried sewer and/or water lines for a small monthly fee. Pipe defects or blockages preventing the sewer line from draining are claim types covered under this program; whereas, this warranty protection is not designed to cover pipe defects not impacting the working condition of the sewer line (i.e. its ability to drain). If you should need a repair, simply call the 24-hour hotline and SLWA will dispatch a local plumber no later than 48 hours, but typically within 24 hours. There are no service fees or deductibles. Repair costs are covered up to $4,000 per incident, plus an additional $4,000 allowance for public street cutting, if needed.

SLWA is proud to have been selected by NLC as a warranty service provider. The National League of Cities, representing over 218 million Americans, is the nation’s oldest and largest organization devoted to strengthening and promoting cities as centers of opportunity, leadership and governance . You may receive letters from other companies promoting similar warranty programs; however, the SLWA Service Line Warranty Program is the only one that has been endorsed by NLC.

SWLA’s standard monthly price for sewer warranty coverage is $4.75. If you elect to pay annually, they discount the cost to $52.00 annually which is a savings of more than 17%. The water warranty standard monthly price is $5.25, discounted to a total of $58.00 if you pay annually.

SLWA offers several billing frequencies and payment options, including invoice, credit card and direct debit from your checking account. To enroll, or to learn more about this program, please call SLWA at 866-922-9006, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm or visit their website at www.SLWofA.com.

The City of Bryan has coordinated efforts with Service Line Warranties of America solely for the purpose of providing its residents with a discounted rate. The City of Bryan has no responsibility or liability for the warranty program being provided by Service Line Warranties of America and does not receive royalties from premiums paid. Questions concerning the warranty program should be directed to SLWA.
