“Passport to Financial Wellness” Credit Fair is scheduled for Oct. 16-17, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Citizens are cautioned of a scam where they receive phone calls, voice messages or texts telling them they have an outstanding case at Bryan Municipal Court that must be handled immediately. A website address is given where they are told they can pay their ticket. This website is not the Bryan Municipal Court’s website address. Then they receive a second phone call telling them to call 209-5400 to pay their fine immediately or they will be arrested. That is the Bryan Municipal Court phone number, but in this message the phone number is being spoofed. If you call that number from the message, you will not get Bryan Municipal Court, but instead will be connected with a thief wanting to steal your money.
Do not to click on the website link or the link to the phone number. If you believe you may have an outstanding case, visit the Bryan Municipal Court in the Bryan Justice Center building located at the corner of Texas Avenue and East 29th Street in Bryan, or call directly 979-209-5445 without clicking on a link in any type of message.
