Bryan celebrates 32 years as a Tree City USA

The City of Bryan was recently named a 2020 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management. This is the 32nd year Bryan has received this honor.

Bryan achieved Tree City USA recognition by meeting the program’s four requirements:

    • A tree board or department
    • A tree care ordinance
    • An annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita
    • An Arbor Day observance and proclamation

Bryan residents and visitors can enjoy the vast number of trees and natural elements in one of the city’s 50+ parks and along more than 37 miles of trails in the community.

“Everyone benefits when we make smart investments in Bryan’s urban forest. Trees bring shade to our homes, beauty to our neighborhoods and economic, social and environmental benefits to the entire community,” said Linda Cornelius, Bryan’s Parks & Recreation Director.
