The City of Bryan is excited to announce its fifth year as a Champion of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). We continue to be committed to cybersecurity, online safety and privacy. This year, as an effort to promote and raise awareness, we will have weekly fact-based posts highlighting importance of online safety, both at work and at home.
As a result of the temporary closure of our area libraries, the Bryan + College Station Public Library System has created a Virtual eCard.
The Virtual eCard allows residents of Brazos County, who do not currently have a BCSPLS library card, to access all of the library’s online resources, including eBooks, digital streaming media, digital audio books, digital magazines and more.
The Virtual eCard is temporary and will be valid online for three months.
If you already have a BCSPLS library card, you do not need to apply for a Virtual eCard. Your physical library card also allows you to access our online digital resources.
Once the three-month period is over, patrons who obtained a Virtual eCard will need to visit their local library and obtain a physical library card to continue using our online resources. And with a physical library card, patrons can access all of our physical library materials, too.
Upon registering, you can immediately start using the library system’s online resources. You will receive an acknowledgement email within two business days confirming your barcode number, and offering some helpful resources.
This will be an ongoing service of the Bryan + College Station Public Library System. For further questions or inquiries about the Virtual eCard, please visit the library system’s website.
