During Fire Prevention Week, the Bryan Fire Department shared important tips on how to ensure the community is aware of the importance of smoke detectors. Three out of five fire related tragedies occur in homes with either non-working smoke detectors or no smoke detectors at all. Listen as Lt. Fire Mashal William Bouse discusses FOUR key factors in safeguarding you and your loved ones: 1) make sure to have smoke alarms, smoke detectors, & carbon monoxide detectors in your home; 2) make sure these devices are installed correctly; 3) test existing batteries monthly and if you are unsure, replace them; and 4) replace all devices every ten years.
