Join us from 4 to 7 PM to share your thoughts on this improvement project.
If you donated to the Bryan Firefighters Association through the “Fill the Boot” Campaign this past fall, you helped our firefighters raise over $41,000 in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This annual nationwide campaign brought together over 100,000 firefighters across the United States who collectively raised over $24 million in 2016 alone. You also helped our firefighters win the bet! Because they raised at least $40,000, Mayor Andrew Nelson and the members of Bryan City Council will wash a fire truck this Friday, December 29, at 4 PM. You are invited to join us in celebrating this milestone at Fire Station #1 located at 300 W. William J. Bryan Parkway in Bryan.
WHAT: Mayor and City Council Fire Truck Wash
WHEN: Friday, December 29th – 4 PM
WHERE: Fire Station #1 – 300 W. William J. Bryan Parkway in Downtown Bryan
Your donation makes an impact locally. A portion of these funds are used for researching new treatments, supporting MDA care centers, and sending youth to the MDA Summer Camp. In 2018, there are forty children in the Brazos Valley that will attend this annual summer camp hosted at Camp for All just outside of Somerville. It is a chance for these children and their families to spend time together, meet our firefighters, and enjoy a small get-a-way expense free.
While it has grown significantly over the years, the Bryan Firefighters Association has actively participated in the “Fill the Boot” campaign for over 30 years and their ability to do so is through your generosity. To show their continued support, our firefighters have set a goal to collect 200 board games next spring to use at the MDA Summer Camp. These board games will be used to help ensure children attending the camp have something fun to do should the outdoor activities be cut short due to inclement weather.
