The City of Bryan’s Vital Statistics Office was recently honored by the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, and staff members were presented with the award at the Bryan City Council meeting on Jan. 14, 2020.

Members of the community are invited to attend the next meeting of the City of Bryan Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC).
In addition to discussing ongoing projects, the meeting will include a presentation on the 5-Year Consolidated Plan Community Needs Assessment survey and related information on upcoming surveys and focus group meetings. There will be an opportunity to participate in the needs assessment survey at the meeting. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
CDAC and the Community Development Services Department administer federal funds received by the city from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant and Home Investment Partnerships Program. This funding supports eligible programs and activities addressing local needs and priorities, which are primarily for the benefit low to moderate-income households. Eligible activities are funded and evaluated in accordance with grant regulations and the current, City Council-approved Annual Action Plan and 5-year Consolidated Plan. Currently funded programs include:
- Homeowner major rehabilitation/reconstruction
- Homeowner minor repair
- Voluntary demolition assistance
- Homebuyer down payment assistance
- Nonprofit community housing development organizations
- Nonprofit public service agencies and public facilities
