Several roadways in Bryan will soon be safer for motorists during heavy rainfall, thanks to a grant the City of Bryan recently received from the state Flood Infrastructure Fund.
April 5 through 9, 2021 is National Community Development Week, which celebrates cities that receive Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment Partnership program (HOME) funds. The City of Bryan is one of those cities.
We receive federal grants targeting special needs populations and use those funds to assist public service agencies, administer emergency economic development grants and support housing programs.
In celebration of this week, the Cities of Bryan and College Station will be co-hosting a contractor’s breakfast at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, April 9. Contractors who are interested in attending should call 979.209.5175.
While CDBG and HOME funds assist individuals, they also help attract investment in underserved communities. For every $1 of CDBG funds invested, another $4.09 is leveraged. For every $1 of HOME funds invested, another $4.44 is leveraged.
