The City of Bryan is excited to announce its fifth year as a Champion of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCSAM). We continue to be committed to cybersecurity, online safety and privacy. This year, as an effort to promote and raise awareness, we will have weekly fact-based posts highlighting importance of online safety, both at work and at home.

The weekly focus will be on the following areas:

    • Week of Oct. 5: If You Connect It, Protect It
    • Week of Oct. 12: Securing Devices at Home and Work
    • Week of Oct. 19: Election Cybersecurity
    • Week of Oct. 26: The Future of Connected Devices

As digital citizens we have the responsibility to stay safe and secure online while protecting our personal information. It is important to know the ins and outs of online security and be aware of potential threats, particularly threats using coronavirus lures to steal personal and financial information. Seven to 10 percent of the U.S population are victims of identity fraud each year, and now more than ever, it is crucial to be careful and alert.

You will see these tips on our website at www.bryantx.gov/cyberaware, in our e-newsletters and on our official social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
