Bryan didn’t become a success story overnight. It took years of work, innovation, leadership and patience. The foundations which began more than 150 years ago have paid off in ways that past generations couldn’t have imagined.
The City of Bryan is excited to announce its sixth year as a Champion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. We continue to be committed to cybersecurity, online safety and privacy. This year, as an effort to promote and raise awareness, we will have weekly fact-based posts highlighting importance of online safety, both at work and at home.
The weekly focus will be on the following areas:
- Week of Oct. 4: Be Cyber Smart
- Week of Oct. 11: Fight the Phish!
- Week of Oct. 18: Explore. Experience. Share.
- Week of Oct. 25: Cybersecurity First
As digital citizens, we have the responsibility to stay safe and secure online while protecting our personal information. It is important to know the ins and outs of online security and be aware of potential threats, particularly threats using coronavirus lures to steal personal and financial information. Seven to 10 percent of the U.S population are victims of identity fraud each year, and now more than ever, it is crucial to be careful and alert.
You will see these tips each week on our website at www.bryantx.gov/cyberaware, in our e-newsletters and on our official social media pages including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
