“Search and Rescue in Community Disasters” is being offered to all Bryan residents to help them prepare for the possibility of a disaster event.
The City of Bryan recently partnered with Safe2Save, a locally-owned smartphone app that rewards safe driving habits. This free app lets you turn your driving time into points redeemable at a number of eateries and retail businesses throughout the community.
While the City of Bryan does not have an ordinance banning the use of hand-held communication devices when driving, the Safe2Save app serves as a positive way to influence drivers to make smarter choices each time they take the wheel. With the upcoming New Year, this app is a great way to jumpstart your motivation to fulfill an important resolution – the resolution to drive safely.
Currently, there are over 13,000 residents in the Bryan/College Station area taking advantage of the free app with over 20 locally-owned venues offering discounts and the list of participating businesses continues to grow. The app is easy to use and allows you to upload a photo of a family member to serve as a powerful reminder that, “It can wait. Don’t text and drive!”
The Safe2Save app is available for download on both Apple and Android devices. To learn more about how you can positively impact the community and be rewarded for doing so one mile at a time, please visit www.safe2save.org.
