The City of Bryan Municipal Court has been notified that citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals claiming they have warrants for their arrest and that if left unpaid, they would be arrested immediately. Citizens have described the caller as a female that speaks in a stern, threatening tone and that the number begins with a 214 area code. In addition, the option to press one for more information is provided.
Representatives from the Bryan Municipal Court do contact individuals with warrants by phone but only during normal business hours which are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Staff will discuss the options available for remitting payment to avoid arrest. Furthermore, if an individual has an outstanding warrant, they are already eligible for immediate arrest.
If you receive a call from someone claiming you have an outstanding warrant in Bryan but you are unsure of their legitimacy, please contact the City of Bryan Municipal Court at 979-209-5400.
