Brian and Amanda Light have transformed the historic Downtown Bryan Ice House from a vacant building into a lively, bustling farm-to-table restaurant that has become a go-to spot for entertainment. That’s why the Lights, owners of Ronin Restaurant, were honored with the 2019 Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award.
On Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, the City of Bryan Municipal Office building and all other City administrative offices will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday and will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019. The following offices will also be closed:
- Bryan Animal Center
- Bryan+College Station Library System
- (Clara B. Mounce Public Library and Carnegie History Center)
- Community Development Office
- Coulter Field
- Parks and Recreation Office
- Neal Recreation Center
- Public Works Call Center
Bryan Municipal Court
The Bryan Municipal Court will be closed Sept. 2. Any documents or payments due to the Court that day will only be accepted on Sept. 3.
Solid Waste and Brush/Bulky Pick-Up
Residential solid waste and brush/bulky pick-up service routes will run on the normal schedule.
Public Works Call Center
The Public Works Call Center will be closed Sept. 3 and will resume normal operating hours on Sept. 4. Residents with traffic, water, sewer or utility needs may call 979.822.3777 for after-hours assistance.
Parks and Recreation
The City Course at the Phillips Event Center will be open with normal operating hours.
Seasonal pools (Henderson Harbor and Sadie Thomas Pool) are closed for the fall and winter seasons. The Bryan Aquatic Center will be open as follows on Sept. 3:
Lap swimming: 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. / Recreational swimming: 1 to 7 p.m.
Bryan Texas Utilities (BTU)
The BTU main office will be closed on Sept. 2 and will resume normal operating hours on Sept. 3. To make a bill payment with cash, credit or check, please visit one of the kiosks at any of the following locations (please note, these locations may have separate holiday hours):
- H-E-B, Texas Avenue and State Highway 21
- H-E-B, 725 E. Villa Maria Road
- Texan Market at Harvey Mitchell Parkway and Villa Maria Road (open 24 hours)
- BTU office drive-through, 205 E. 28th St. (open 24 hours)
