Residents in central and southeast areas of Bryan may see smoke emanating from various areas beginning the week of Oct 26, as contractors with the City of Bryan perform smoke testing on sanitary sewer lines.
The City of Bryan regretfully announces that its Holiday Magic event traditionally held in early December has been canceled this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As we get closer to when the event was to be held, we were forced to make difficult decisions to ensure we are keeping the community’s safety a priority,” said Parks & Recreation Director Linda Cornelius. “Now is the time our staff would have needed to begin securing contracts with vendors, and with the uncertainty surrounding state regulations on large gatherings and the status of the pandemic, the most responsible decision was to cancel the event this year.”
Residents will have other opportunities to celebrate the winter holidays in Bryan in 2020. The city and Destination Bryan are planning several socially distant holiday activities for the community that will be announced in the coming weeks.
