The Annual Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award recognizes business owners who have influenced the revitalization of historic downtown Bryan. By locating to and doing business in downtown Bryan, these individuals and organizations have directly contributed to making Bryan a better place to live, work, and do business.
This award was created in 2000, as the revitalization of the City’s oldest business district was still in progress. Today, downtown Bryan is home to galleries, restaurants, shops, high tech businesses, offices, and entertainment venues. Together these businesses are ensuring local artists, musicians, and retail merchants enjoy thriving success in downtown.
Citizens and customers have the opportunity to nominate local businesses and organizations for this prestigious award. A successful nominee will have demonstrated outstanding efforts to advance Bryan’s historic downtown, sponsored or participated in a downtown capital project, or engaged in a downtown community service initiative. A successful candidate can best be described as a visionary for the continued preservation, viability, and success of the historic downtown district.
If you would like to nominate a candidate for the Mayor’s Downtown Impact Award, please complete the online nomination form by 5 PM on Friday, November 10, 2017. Award recipient(s) will be recognized at the City’s annual volunteer reception to be held on December 14, 2017.
